Vision and Mission

Vision:  Sustainable and viable local government, traditional councils and communities in Gauteng.

Mission: Coordinate the effective functioning of local government; promote integrated development planning and deepen participatory democracy in order to accelerate service delivery.

Values for Gauteng Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs

The Department has adopted a set of values that are informed by the Batho Pele (People First) principles of the South African Public Service and, as an organisation; our specific focus is on the following:
